Students in grades 3-8 have the opportunity to play on one of our co-ed basketball teams during the winter months.

We have two divisions: elementary (grade 3-5) and middle school (grades 6-8) which compete against other Christian schools in the area. In order to play, students must maintain a grade of 70 or above in all subjects.

The elementary division is a developmental program where basketball abilities and an understanding of the complexities of the game are introduced and strengthened.

The middle school division is much more competitive in nature and while the coaches try to include everyone in each game, equal playing time is not always guaranteed.

The students pay a nominal fee to help defray the cost of uniform t-shirts and referees. We depend on local businesses owned by school parents or FBC church members to sponsor our teams and ask adult volunteers, usually parents or teachers, to coach.

Our goal is to play well, which may or may not mean winning. We stress character formation of such traits as good sportsmanship and perseverance over and above just mastering the skills of the game. The season typically consists of 8-10 games, both home and away.
